Kaili city is the capital of Miao and Dong Minority Autonomous region and the central tourist city in the southeast.

With its unique architectural structure of the Dong ethnic region, Dong 's Drum Tower serve as a public site for villagers' sacrificial events, festival rallies and leisure. A fire pit is arranged in its center with long benches all around and a Dong opera stage opposite to it. The tower resembles China fir tree in the outer form, with some towers reaching 17 storeys, over 26m in height.
